Creating Value for Stakeholders All Over The World
Established in 1954, Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) is a global integrated business enterprise headquartered in Japan that develops and operates businesses together with its offices and subsidiaries worldwide.
MC has eight business groups that operate across virtually every industry: Environmental Energy, Materials Solution, Mineral Resources, Urban Development and Infrastructure, Mobility, Food Industry, Smart-Life Creation and Power Solution.
Through its business groups, MC’s current activities have expanded far beyond its traditional trading operations, working in collaboration with its trusted partners around the globe. MC leverages its global network in around 90 countries and regions to identify potential sources of growth and new business opportunities, as well as to bolster risk management practices and ultimately support the expansion of the MC Group.
As a shareholder of Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, MC has been involved in the country’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) business since the establishment of Brunei LNG in 1969 and the first LNG cargo delivery from Brunei to Japan in 1972.
MC also acquired ownership of companies owning LNG carriers to join the LNG transportation sector and participated in a Block CA2 upstream development.
For over 50 years, MC has built a value chain that covers throughout upstream, liquefaction, sales and transportation. Aside from the LNG business in Brunei, MC is also involved in CSR Activities such as the Environmental Education Tour to Tenaga Suria Brunei (TSB), a project organised by MC and Green Brunei in promoting better awareness of climate change issues in the country, especially to the young generation. TSB, a solar plant in Seria, is a joint project fully funded by MC through its collaboration with the Brunei Government. It was handed over to the Brunei Government in 2010, in an effort to support the renewable energy development in Brunei.
As part of its social development project in 2024, MC in collaboration with Green Brunei once again, supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Brunei-Muara District Office embarked on refurbishment works. A handover ceremony was held in October 2024 to mark the completion of a newly-repaired wooden boardwalk in Kampong Setia ‘A’, Zone 2.
In addition, under the support of the Ministry of Education as well as the Forestry Department, MC hosted educational trips to the Tropical Biodiversity Centre for primary students from the water village to spread environmental awareness to the young generation.
With an unwavering commitment toconducting business with integrity and fairness, MC remains fully dedicated to growing its businesses while contributing to a prosperous society.
