ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Leader in High-Level Meetings

Asia Inc Forum (AIF) is a leading advisor and

convenor of high-level business conferences and

dialogues on public policy, business responsibility

and future trends.

Founded in 2003 in Brunei Darussalam, AIF’s

mission is to help shape the region’s future by

raising understanding of major developments,

issues and challenges, and stimulating possible

solutions through dialogue. Since its founding,

AIF has brought together government, business

and thought leaders, experts and officials from

across ASEAN and beyond. Its conferences and

programmes cover wide ranging topics including

entrepreneurship, sustainability, public policy,

trade, regionalism and the impact of globalisation.

AIF has a long partnership with the APEC CEO

Summit, the most influential meeting of business

and government leaders in the Asia Pacific. It has

been an advisor and strategic partner to 12 APEC

CEO Summits since 2003, including Summits

hosted by Singapore (2009), USA (2011), Indonesia

(2013), China (2014), the Philippines (2015) and

Peru (2016). A consortium comprising AIF and

the US National Council for APEC was recently

appointed Strategic Partner to the APEC CEO

Summit 2019 in Chile.

In the annual APEC CEO Summit, CEOs in the

Asia Pacific region engage with APEC and World

Leaders, build networks and realise business

and investment opportunities while seeking

inclusive and sustainable growth. The APEC

region comprises 21 economies: Australia, Brunei,

Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia,

Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand,

Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia,

Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the United

States and Vietnam.

In Brunei, AIF is the convenor of the annual

Local Business Development (LBD) Program,

the country’s longest-running private sector

led programme for MSMEs. Last September

2018, AIF held the 12

th

LBD Program under the

theme ‘How to Think Big in a Small Market’

with a workshop on ‘Blue Ocean Shift: Beyond

Competing, Toward Creating’. It explored

stories of successful businesses that emerged

from small markets and illustrated how local

businesses can break away from competition

and create new demand. In 2019, AIF envisions

an expanded LBD Program to feature a larger

business forum, two strategy workshops and a

curated showcase of some of Brunei’s notable

products.

AIF convened the ASEAN 100 Leadership Forum

from 2003 to 2012 and organised the inaugural

Asian Forum on Enterprise for Society in the

Philippines in 2018.

Asia Inc Forum is open to collaboration with

leading companies and institutions to convene

meetings and dialogues of interest and

relevance to Brunei, ASEAN and beyond.
