edge lab equipment, the Simpor Pharma lab is
capable of in-house lab testing upon requests.
This includes chemical testing to verify chemical
compounds in raw materials and finished
products, as well microbiological testing to
verify the absence of harmful bacterial and other
microbial contaminations.
In addition to manufacturing and lab testing,
Simpor Pharma also offers the following
services: colour coating, logo printing, packaging
and labelling.

SENGENICS
Functional proteomics company Sengenics
officially opened its DNA sequencing and
microarray facility at Universiti Brunei
Darussalam (UBD) in 2015. The partnership
between UBD and Sengenics grew from a
research collaboration agreement, which began
in July 2014.
UBD continued its collaboration with Sengenics
with the opening of the new Sengenics
Immunome Production Facility on its campus in
2017. The new facility offers protein cloning and
expression services using the patented BCCP
(biotin carboxyl carrier protein) folding marker
technology.
This supports the commercially available
flagship technology that is offered by Sengenics,
the Immunome Protein Array Platform, which is
used for a variety of pharmaceutical screening
and drug discovery applications.
Since the launch of its first genomics and
proteomics facility in Brunei, the company has
been making efforts to further develop the
country’s biotechnology industry.
