Borneo Bulletin Yearbook 2021

IMAGINE

Since announcing its launch in December 2019,

and officially providing telecommunications

services encompassing broadband, mobile and

bundle plans from January 24, 2020, imagine

over the past 12 months has gone on to achieve

a number of milestones, cementing presence in

Brunei’s telecommunications industry.

Aimed at providing Bruneians with more telco

service options including mobile prepaid and

postpaid as well as value-added services for

corporate and enterprise clients, imagine was

formed following a transformation in the industry

to meet the ever-increasing demand for data

connectivity as the nation continues towards

digitalisation.

For this year, imagine will adopt and aims to fulfill

another benchmark that involves the evolution of

broadband consumption in the country as part of

the national agenda.

With sights set on improving Internet service

experience within households and businesses,

imagine CEO Suzannawati binti Haji Suharju

explained that the company will leverage on

improvements in Brunei’s network infrastructure

that can now support higher bandwidth for the

average household where the speed can reach

50Mbps and higher.

Coupled with more value data packages imagine

has to offer, this improved service speed brings

possibilities of enhancements to everyday living

and user experience. Encouraging the use of such

speeds among the average user would elevate

Brunei’s position as a developing nation, thus

propelling the country onto a more competitive

international platform.

“By encouraging the use of high-speed Internet

where we aim to encourage the use of over

50Mbps among majority of the population, we

will be on par with many of our regional and

international counterparts whose economies and

societies are thriving thanks to the adoption of

high-speed broadband,” said Suzanna.

Following imagine’s Smart Home launch in 2020

and in line with the country’s Smart Nation

initiative, imagine strives to deliver quality

service as a telco provider towards realising

Brunei Vision 2035’s digital aspiration, and

together explore what can be achieved as a

society with high-speed Internet.
