200 tons of margarine per day at full capacity, thus

diversifying Brunei’s economy and leading Brunei

towards its national Brunei Vision 2035.

The products are Halal certified by MUIB and are

intended to serve the growing global market demand

for quality Halal food products. They are also the first

margarine and edible products to be exported from

Brunei. The main raw ingredient, palm oil, is sourced

from Malaysia.

The finished product is exported to the ASEAN region

and beyond through Brunei’s main port, the Muara Port.

WFP is also looking into downstream opportunities for

its products which can be used as ingredients to make

biscuit, chocolates, pastries and ice cream.

Saahtain Asia Sdn Bhd

Utilising locally sourced materials, Saahtain Asia Sdn

Bhd produces Brunei Halal certified premium quality

products that meet global food safety standards,

being Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point

(HACCP) certified.

Brunei is the Saahtain group’s second site of

production after Dubai. The company focusses

on producing their signature line of Al-Gourmet

products marketed for general retail, Tayyib products

designated for humanitarian and disaster relief; as

well as TheFoodPouch that utilises military grade

ration packs.

Saahtain products have been distributed in several

global crisis situations including the Gaza conflict, the

earthquake in Nepal, feeding orphans in Ghana and

the Rohingya refugee crisis.
