The data demand is evident in the growth of social

media penetration in Brunei with 94 per cent of

the population in 2019 having access to platforms

such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

These numbers have placed Brunei third highest

globally and highest in ASEAN. In 2018, mobile

penetration exceeded the number of people living

in the country with 130 users for every 100 people.
