In 2013, the RBTS Cargo Unit introduced its
services for dangerous goods to the public
comprising documentation, labelling, packaging
and pre-inspection. In terms of packaging
services, the RBTS Cargo team also uses
standard United Nations (UN) boxes, designed
to transport dangerous goods safely due to
the level of hazard it equipped. The box is the
preferred choice that passes the “drop test”
during manufacturing.
Dangerous goods are any substances, items
or materials that can pose significant risk to
people’s health and safety, living organisms,
property or the environment when transported
in quantity. As such, dangerous goods must be
handled by qualified personnel with appropriate
training. The team is certified in the International
Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods
Regulations (IATA DGR). It is a global reference
for shipping dangerous goods by air, recognised
by the global airline industry for over 60 years.

The team has handled various materials in the
industry including aircraft engines, radioactive
medical isotopes, pyrotechnics, explosives,
weapons and ammunition.
