through collaborative action, drawing on
partnerships with government ministries,

individual donors who share a commitment
to social good.
BIBD Sirah Amal is one of BIBD’s mainstay
annual CSR initiative that supports
underprivileged families across all four
districts of Brunei Darussalam, typically in
the lead-up to Ramadhan. Through home
visits and the distribution of food hampers
and daily necessities, the programme aims
to ease financial burdens, spread festive
cheer, and embody BIBD’s “Bruneian at
Heart” values by fostering compassion and
community solidarity.
Such initiatives allow Bruneians to live out
values of compassion and solidarity in a
very practical way, with the bank acting as
a connector between thosewho can help and
those who need support.
CHAMPIONING
SUSTAINABILITY AND
FUTURE-FOCUSED
LIFESTYLES
In recent years, BIBD has taken a more
visible role in advancing environmental
sustainability, recognising that a high quality
of life also depends on a healthy planet. The
bank’s sustainability agenda ties together
climate action, youth engagement and
conscious consumption into a coherent
lifestyle message.
BIBD’s Projek Alam Mampan, launched in
mid-2024, drove environmental restoration
in Brunei via the “660 Roots to a Greener
Future” initiative. Partnering with Green
Brunei, it planted 660 trees across four
districts, including Berakas, Tutong, and
Temburong, with community and youth
involvement. Aligned with UN SDGs and
Wawasan Brunei 2035, it later expanded
to marine efforts like coral reef restoration
and mangroves. Officiated by top officials, it
marked national milestones while boosting
biodiversity.

commitment through its 2021 Framework,
aligned withMaqasid Shariah and UN SDGs,
including a BND2 billion pledge by 2030.
In October 2024, BIBD became Brunei’s
first commercial entity accepted into the
United Nations Global Compact (UNGC),
pledging to 10 principles on human rights,
