risk. A new laboratory was also completed.

Brunei LNG’s lab operations have been ranked

first by Shell for six years running.

Meanwhile, the year 2016 saw the completion

of the COGEN II Project – a joint venture project

between Brunei LNG, Brunei Shell Petroleum Co

Sdn Bhd (BSP) and the Department of Electrical

Services which cost more than BND300 million.

Highlights and Milestones

In 2012, Brunei LNG was the first LNG plant to

achieve Gas GAME (Global Asset Management

Excellence), ensuring Brunei LNG’s safety

and reliability. In the same year, Brunei LNG’s

Training Centre was accredited as BTEC

Approved Centre. Brunei LNG was also the first

LNG plant in the world to overhaul loading arms.

Safety is one of Brunei LNG’s main priorities.

In 2015, Brunei LNG reached 25 million man

hours without LTI (Loss Time Incident), as well

as being the first LNG plant to replace Main

Cryogenic Heat Exchangers on-site.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Brunei LNG’s corporate social responsibility is

centred on three areas: Social, Economic and

Environment.

One of the company’s initiatives is strategic

social investment, through contribution to the

local communities and other stakeholders.

Another is the Lumut Liang Recreational Park

(LLRC), which is a venue for recreational,

sports, educational and religious events for

the community. Since 2005, Brunei LNG has

formed partnership with Universiti Teknologi

Brunei for the Creative Innovative Product and

Technological Advancement (CIPTA) award.

Brunei LNG’s emphasises its commitment to

protect the environment. The company complies

with local environmental regulations and

their own standards. Brunei LNG is ISO4001

certified. ISO4001 is a robust environmental

management system that provides assurance

that the company’s environmental impacts

are being measured and improved. Brunei

LNG works closely with regulators (MEMI

and SHENA) and stakeholders (Lumut Liang

community) to ensure continuous improvement

and follows environmental best practices from

around the globe. Environmental advocacy on

greenhouse gas, air, wastes are key areas for

2019 especially in the recent climate change

pressure. Brunei LNG also regularly engages

staff and business partners in green campaigns,

celebrating environmental international days,

recycling drives and carpool campaigns.
