Cycling

Having gained popularity in the past years,

cycling has been recognised as a national

pastime. Cyclists can often be seen pedaling

on weekends, especially on Sundays during

Bandarku Ceria.

Cycling is made even more special with the

active participation of His Majesty Sultan Haji

Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni

Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien

Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-

Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

On March 1, 2020, His Majesty participated in

a cycling event together with more than 1,000

people in conjunction with Brunei’s 36

th

National

Day.

Hiking

Hiking has become one of the most popular

recreational activities in Brunei Darussalam to

maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Among the hiking trails in the country are Bukit

Shahbandar Forest Recreation Park; Tasek Lama

Recreational Park, Bandar Seri Begawan; Wasai

Wong Kadir Recreational Park, Labi; Bukit Batu

Bujang Pahang; Bukit Patoi Forest Recreational

Park; and Bukit Saeh.

Also known as Bukit Korea, Bukit Sum Sum is

a popular hiking spot for outdoor enthusiasts,

along with Bukit Sipatir in Kampong Subok.

FITNESS TRENDS
