main objective of XHQ is to help end-users
or operators to improve asset integrity and
operational efficiency by integrating and
contextualising operations and business data
together. With real-time data integration,
XHQ translates into meaningful information to
improve operations performance.
The topics covered during the seminar included
‘Why data is important to operations and how
to utilise that data to support operational
decisions’; an introduction of the XHQ
Operations Intelligence Platform; and ‘How
XHQ can help to improve asset performance and
operation efficiency’. The event also saw a ‘Use
Cases’ presentation and a live demonstration
on XHQ.
The joint effort between the Ministry of
Development and Siemens Pte Ltd is in line
with the ministry’s core strategy to expand
collaborative networks with strategic partners
of the ministry, as stipulated in the Strategic
Plan 2018-2023.
Siemens has a long history with Brunei
companies, which began in 1972 with its
development of boil-off gas compressors for
a Liquefied Natural Gas system in the oil and
gas industry. Since then, Siemens has been
contributing to the growth and development of
Brunei. They installed the country’s first digital
telecommunication switching system, provided
product systems and solutions across many
industries in Brunei and introduced healthcare
equipments. In 2011, Siemens installed the
Verio 3-Tesla MRI system for the radiology
department at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha
Hospital.
In the hospital environment where saving lives
is imperative, digitalisation can be utilised
to control and monitor advanced equipments
such as a CT scan machine. In August 2018,
the Jerudong Park Medical Centre introduced
the Dual Energy SIEMENS Definition Edge CT
Scanner.
