BGC is also committed to pursuing the
goal of no harm and no leaks, and to
sustain zero total recordable cases
(TRC) in its day-to-day operations both
onshore and offshore. The company’s
safety record proves ‘Goal Zero’ is
achievable as BGC ensures everyone
goes home safely to their families and
loved ones.
Contributing to the
community
BGC firmly believes that the most
effective social investment initiatives
are ones that build value, especially in
terms of demonstrating commitment
to economic and social development,
thereby allowing the company to foster
strong ties with the local community.
The i-Usahawan programme is part of
BGC’s social investment strategy to
help local entrepreneurs start and grow
their business in collaboration with the
Department of Energy at the Prime
Minister’s Office. Through this initiative,
participants propose innovative ideas
and build their confidence in tendering,
enabling them to eventually bid for
larger projects in the future.
BGC held its first i-Usahawan
Graduation event in 2022 to recognise
two of its i-Usahawan business
partners. As part of its local capability
development vision, BGC will continue
to support the i-Usahawan ecosystem
and provide opportunities for young,
budding local entrepreneurs.
BGC also carries out its annual
charitable deeds under ‘Project
Amali
’,
presenting donations in the form of
eidiya
which is collected through
its internal donative drive among its
staff. With Project
Amali
, BGC aims to
inculcate the spirit of benevolence
among BGC staff and at the same time
align with Project
Amali
’s objectives
to aid, interact and build relationships
with the local communities.
