Brunei Shell Marketing Company
Sdn Bhd (BSM) is the sole supplier of
fuels, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG),
bitumen and Shell lubricants in Brunei
Darussalam since 1959. Its quality fuels
include Shell Premium, Shell Super,
Shell Regular, Shell Diesel and its
advanced Shell V-Power introduced
in 2020 to meet the modern high-
performance engine requirement.
The company operates from its main
office in Bandar Seri Begawan, Muara
Terminal and Brunei International
Airport Aviation Depot. The BSM
Aviation Depot supplies jet fuels to
aircraft at the airport including the
national carrier, as well as corporate jet
operators. BSM also supplies marine
fuels to Brunei’s major ports and ships
as part of its bunkering services.
Currently, BSM has 37 retail stations
across the country including the latest
riverine station in Kampong Buang
Sakar and the Batang Duri Station in
Temburong District. Kampong Buang
Sakar serves the Kampong Ayer
community, particularly the residents,
taxi boat operators and fishermen.
In September 2022, the Sultanate
took a huge leap towards vehicle
electrification after launching its first
retail rapid charging station in Lambak.
The station features a Shell Recharge
175-kilowatt hour rapid charger which
can charge an electric vehicle (EV)
from zero to 80 per cent in under 30
minutes. The launch demonstrates
BSM’s commitment to offering cleaner
energy solutions to power Brunei’s
transportation
sector,
embracing
greener mobility while also welcoming
evolving technologies to co-exist with
conventional transport fuels.
During the launch, BSM Managing
Director Muhammad Norshafiee bin
Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil said the
company plans to take a pragmatic
approach in expanding Shell Recharge
across the country as they work closely
with authorities and industry players to
identify the needs and requirements to
meet the growth of EV ownership.
With access to one of the largest
electric charging solutions providers
globally, BSM keeps up to date with
the latest e-mobility technologies
and learnings. “Together let’s support
the transformation of Brunei’s vehicle
industry, to support the Brunei
Darussalam National Climate Change
Policy (BNCCP) initiatives,” he added.
