ENERGY SECTOR

providing low carbon solutions to

customers, striving to avoid and

further reduce carbon emissions

across the business, moving towards

safeguarding tomorrow’s future today.

Brunei LNG aims to shift 10 per cent

of its installed power generation

capacity to renewables beyond 2025,

continuing to develop end explore

potential opportunities to enable

emissions avoidance in the future.

As a sustainable partner to the

community, Brunei LNG aims to protect

the environment by championing

environmental initiatives such as tree

planting in the community and through

the Brunei LNG Eco Eagles, an initiative

aimed at creating an active green

community in Brunei LNG.

Brunei LNG planted over 1,200 saplings

in 2022 as part of its commitment to

the Green Protocol under the BNCCP,

supporting the Brunei Government’s

commitment towards a low carbon

and climate resilient nation.

In July 2021, Brunei LNG delivered its

first carbon neutral LNG cargo making

it the first LNG supplier in the Southeast

Asian region to do so. The integrated

collaboration between Brunei LNG,

Shell, and Osaka Gas marked an

important milestone in Brunei LNG’s

journey as a key partner for energy

transition, enabling customers to move

towards their net zero ambition by

compensating the full lifecycle carbon

dioxide (CO

) emissions of the cargo by

using carbon offset from nature-based

solutions.

Brunei LNG’s carbon neutral LNG cargo

offering is one of the ways to transform

the business to be more sustainable,

keeping in pace with the society’s

global ambition to tackle climate

change.

Anchored for the future

Similar to the company’s pioneering

roots in the LNG space, Brunei LNG

is pioneering in the digitalisation

space, whereby its engineers are

doing proactive technical monitoring

of the plant and advancing process

optimisation through data analysis.

Brunei LNG has already delivered

additional millions to the company’s

bottom line by designing a plant

that is constantly looking for more

gas from its upstream suppliers. This

automated feed system is working

24 hours a day, seven days a week

to ensure that all available gas to the

plant is liquefied.

Brunei LNG has also successfully

created a proof of concept digital

twin (a digital replication) of a part of

its plant in August 2022, introducing

people to an interactive plant

Brunei LNG is currently conducting laser scanning of its plant to create a photo-realistic 3D model of the plant, similar to Google Maps Street View, a component

of the digital twin.
