Borneo Bulletin Yearbook 2023

Safety as priority

As a trusted and committed mobility

partner, safety at Shell retail stations is of

paramount importance to BSM and only by

working together can Goal Zero (incident-

free) be achieved. To raise safety awareness

among the public, BSM launched the ‘Fill

Safe, Feel Safe 2022’ campaign, the fourth

series of the campaign since its first launch

in 2014. The campaign aimed to ensure

that petrol stations prioritise safety by

complying with the guidelines and safety

regulations.

The campaign ran for four weeks, with each

week focussing on a different theme. The

first week focussed on people driving safely

when entering and exiting petrol stations,

in addition to ensuring that vehicles do

not exceed the maximum height limit. The

second week focussed on using suitable

containers to purchase petrol, followed by

the third week which focussed on making

payments only after fuel filling is completed

to avoid incidents such as petrol nozzles

being pulled off. Finally, the fourth week

focussed on public cooperation to respect

service champions on duty.

Through its safety campaigns, BSM aspires

to create a culture where all customers

are aware of the rules at petrol stations,

supported by station attendants who will

intervene any potentially unsafe activities

to ensure everyone goes home safely.

For more than 60 years, BSM has been a

vital part of life in the country. Through

innovation and relentlessly focussing on the

needs of its customers, BSM will continue

to support the nation now and in the future

moving forward with them.
