Code of Conduct
In December 2018, Total updated their code
of conduct for all their employees worldwide.
The code of conduct outlines their international
standards and is shared with stakeholders, local
communities, customers, suppliers, contractors
and business partners. The document also
applies to Total’s suppliers of goods and
services, setting out Total’s expectations with
regards to behaviour and ethical standards.
TEPB also signed the Energy Industry Business
Integrity Pact in 2017 along with other major oil
and gas operators in Brunei, demonstrating their
commitment to uphold integrity in business. The
Energy industry Business Integrity Pact consists
of 10 essential principles to monitor integrity
and compliance risks in business operations.
CSR
Total’s community engagement in 2018 was
refocussed on four priority areas of action: road
safety, forests and climate, youth inclusion and
education and cultural dialogue and heritage.
In Brunei, Total applies a similar approach
but adapts to the local context through the
following CSR pillars — to engage and develop
neighbouring communities; participate in
the development of Brunei’s oil and gas core
competencies; promote themarine environment,
cultural heritage and activities; and participate
in Brunei’s economic diversification and local
development projects.
The first batch of local students from the Total
Education Scholarship Scheme (TESS) have
completed their studies up to Masters level in
France. These students are currently working
with the Total affiliate in Brunei in various
fields with the Operations Department and
Geosciences Department.
Going Forward
The year 2019 will be exciting for Total. TEPB
will conduct a well intervention campaign;
whereas on Block CA1, TEPDOB will conduct a
seismic survey. An Environment Social Impact
Assessment (ESIA) will also be carried out.
Total aims to continue its safety record in line
with its motto of “Safety for Me, Safety for You
and Safety for All.”
